Human Resource Management

Course Overview

Human Resource Management deals with a wide range of activities by which organizations (both profit and nonprofit) acquire, maintain, and utilize their workforces.  Adopting the perspective of a general manager, students will examine a number of key human resource “levers” or processes contributing to the development of an effective work system, including investing in people (training and development), measurement and incentives (compensation), and tapping potential employees (recruitment and selection) to better understand the complexities of managing people in organizations.

Professional Badge
Earn a digital professional development badge! Upon completion of this course, students will earn a professional development badge. The badge can be displayed on professional profiles, resumes, or online platforms, allowing individuals to showcase their expertise to employers and peers. Digital badges are associated with credit-bearing courses or components of a degree program. They represent the successful completion of specific academic requirements and can be integrated into the broader context of a learner or student’s academic journey.

Course Materials: Antioch learners are enrolled in automatic delivery of all required course materials via our bookstore partner, Slingshot. This means that while students are automatically enrolled to receive all required course materials by the first day of class, you are not required to participate and may choose to opt-out.
