Course Overview
Human Resource Management deals with a wide range of activities by which organizations (both profit and nonprofit) acquire, maintain, and utilize their workforce. In this course, students examine fundamental issues shaping our increasingly global economy and diverse organizations in terms of Human Resources (HR). These issues include investing in people (training and development), measurement and incentives (compensation – fixed and variable), and tapping potential employees (recruitment and selection). Students will consider how HR assists the company in reaching its mission, goals, and strategies.
Course Materials: Antioch learners are enrolled in automatic delivery of all required course materials via our bookstore partner, Slingshot. Fees for texts and materials will be automatically applied to the student’s account. This means that while students are automatically enrolled to receive all required course materials by the first day of class, you are not required to participate and may choose to opt-out.
